Our team team consists of professionals with expertise in research, archives, and non-profit administration; active directors who are direct descendants of Leon Galindo Camacho; and our director emeritus, also a direct descendant, whose lifelong devotion to collecting and preserving historical documents and artifacts is the inspiration for our work.

Licensed in History from the Universidad Mayor Real y Pontificia de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca, Norma is a co-author of the fourth volume of the book “400 años formando revolucionarios” and “Personajes Facultativos”. and has experience editing and realizing full restoration of old and damaged photographs.

With a vision for community service, and a proven commitment to public education, our Executive Director directs the foundation’s daily operations towards our shared mission. Micah is a graduate (MA) of The University of Texas at Austin’s Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies. He is a Fulbrighter, the recipient of U.S. Department of State Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund Award, U.S. Department of Education Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship, and LLILAS Benson Community Engagement Award.

Director of Research

JUAN josé toro montoya

A journalist, lawyer, writer, and historian, our Director of Research is the only living recipient of Bolivia’s National Award for the History of Journalism. He has published 14 solo-authored books and over twenty works as a co-author or contributor to anthologies. His historiographical studies have appeared in a dozen Bolivian publications. He holds undergraduate degrees in Law and Journalism, as well as postgraduate qualifications in Higher Education and the Critical History of Bolivia.

Alba Ximena Quispe Martínez

Research Assistant

Alba holds degrees in Social Communication, Agro-industrial Engineering, and Civil Engineering, and has also pursued studies in paleography and historical cartography. She is the president of the Potosí Animal Protection Association and the drafter of the municipal law on responsible animal ownership.
